Summer Camp

Catalina Island Camps (CIC) has been running youth camps at Howlands Landing since the 1920s. In the 1990’s, CIC came under the ownership of the Horner family from Pasadena. Also running a popular day camp, Tom Sawyer Camps, the Horners brought with them decades of camp experience. CIC manages CELP, as well as a recreational summercamp, the Jean-Michel Cousteau Family Camp and various weekend groups.

Catalina Island Camps develops life-long skills through fun and unique outdoor experiences in a community that cultivates respect for self, others, and the environment.

Ocean Future's Society

Ocean Futures Society is a non-profit marine conservation and education organization founded by Jean-Michel Cousteau. OFS explores our global oceans, documenting the critical connection between humanity and nature with a mission to inspire and educate people throughout the world to act responsibly for its protection. Ocean Futures celebrates the ocean’s vital importance to the survival of all life on our planet. 

 

Ocean Futures Society serves as a “Voice for the Ocean” by communicating in all media the critical bond between people and the sea and the importance of wise environmental policy. As Ocean Future’s spokesman, Jean-Michel serves as an impassioned diplomat for the environment, reaching out to the public through a variety of media.

Ambassadors of the Environment

Ambassadors of the Environment is a program of Ocean Future’s Society. AOTE’s educational programs promote a better understanding of how nature works and create an appreciation for the value of our natural heritage. AOTE aims to guide the next generation to live more sustainably on the planet. CELP was the first AOTE program, which now run all across the globe!
